New steps in Development of Biometric technologies.

Development of identification security started from the usage of password combinations, signatures and PINs. The first generation of biometric identification devices became possible due to development of biometric technologies, and advanced facilities of security systems. Now biometric technologies are changing again. New step for authentication systems are making available stronger security for PCs and secret data.

The sphere of biometric defense is shifting from fingerprint readers to complex hardware, that are more unlikely to be copied. Additionally, the producers are improving the devices to enable them sense blood flow under a fingerprint, and software programs which recognize not only the PIN entered by user, but also the manner in which he or she entered it.

According to David Ting (CTO of Imprivata) fingerprint readers will have better speed and imaging in future. New biometric tech like IR (infrared) image makers can define thermal signatures of finger, palm, veins and hand veins. These biometric technologies are going to appear in the nearest future. Price to the fingerprint sensors will be lower then the one to new biometric sensors, which are more expensive in using and still early in the production cycle. The biometric techs are very promising and will surely provide society with good tools for making ones information confidential.
